Building the Back Office for Construction

Construction is one of the largest industries in the world. Yet the systems supporting the people who build our cities remain fragmented, manual, and decades behind modern software.
Payroll, compliance, workforce management, and reporting are often spread across disconnected tools — creating unnecessary risk, wasted time, and operational blind spots for contractors.
Trayd was built to change that.
Trayd is the back-office operating system for construction. Our platform brings payroll, compliance, workforce management, payments, and job costing into one unified system designed specifically for the complexity of the trades — from union labor to prevailing wage to multi-state compliance.
Instead of stitching together spreadsheets and legacy tools, contractors run their operations on a platform built for how construction actually works.
The idea for Trayd started with firsthand experience. Co-founder and CEO Anna Berger grew up around construction and saw these back-office challenges up close while working in her father’s office. What she saw was an industry forced to rely on outdated tools to manage some of the most complex labor environments in the economy.
Together with co-founder and CTO Cara Kessler — a longtime engineer and Anna’s lifelong friend — the two set out to build a modern operating system for construction companies.
Today, Trayd powers the back office for contractors across the country, helping teams run payroll, stay compliant, and understand their labor costs in real time.
Backed by investors including White Star Capital, Suffolk Technologies, Bloomberg Beta, and Y Combinator, Trayd is headquartered in New York City.
Because the people building the world deserve technology that works just as hard as they do.
